We get these questions a lot, Is hunting allowed in Finger Lakes National Forest? Can you hunt Seneca Lake? Where can I go duck hunting in NY? These are all great questions, Hunting is allowed in The finger Lakes National forrest area which is actually the only federally managed public forrest in New York State. Hunters there will of course need to obtain proper licensing prior to venturing out on their adventure. Seneca Lake serves as an excellent hunting location and hunters are welcome to hunt waterfowl on this lake as long as they are more than 500 feet away from a dwelling or otherwise restricted area such as city or town limits. When it comes to Duck hunting and bird hunting in general in New York the Finger Lakes area is often looked at as the best hunting grounds. This has to do with the wide variety of migratory birds that make stops on the many lakes and ponds here. It also has to do with the relatively flat and open terrain that we see here in the Finger Lakes.
Our hunting trips are designed to take full advantage of the diverse hunting opportunities presented by the one of a kind landscape in the Finger Lakes. We offer Waterfowl trips from boats and blinds, we also offer open field hunts for Canada Goose, Snow Goose and more!
